After duplicating that layer pull it above all other layers and it should look like this:

While the layer is still selected change its mode to color dodge in the small drop down menu right under “layers”.

Next I am giong to use hue/saturation again with these settings:

For the final touch of the fire text I made a new layer and typed out the same font exactly how we started and put it over all the layers and added Outer glow, bevel contour, and a gradient overlay.

I am not going through these steps because you can mess with that on your own. But if you have any questions just leave a comment.

Here is my result:

Now for the smoke… This is the easiest part of the tutorial (not that any of it was too bad) but this is all about using your brush and smudge tool. Start a New layer and click on your brush tool, choose a light grayish color (I used #B5B3B3) then click on the drop down menu to change your brush size to 4px.

Then open your brush palette and go to the scattering option with these settings:

Then check “DUAL BRUSH” and that is it.

Now in your new layer with your brush selected put spots around the top of your fire with it like this:

Now get your smudge tool back and you can leave it on the same settings and do the same method we did with the fire except I do more of circle type motions to keep the smoke more realistic.

My current smudge tool is on size 38, normal mode, and 29% strength.

Just mess with the smudging for a while until you get the desired result, it will take a few tries so just keep deleting and making new layers to retry.

Here is my final result:
